Aspen Mountain and Snowmass will be open daily for the season on Saturday, Nov. 23 — five days before the scheduled opening, the Aspen Skiing Co. announced Sunday.
Early season snow and cold temperatures have allowed crews to work around the clock and get the mountains ready. Aspen Mountain will open with top-to-bottom skiing down both the Spar Gulch and Copper Bowl sides of the mountain. Skiers and riders will enjoy more than 200 acres of terrain, 3,267 of vertical on an 18 inch base. The Silver Queen Gondola and Ajax Express Chair will be open as will the Sundeck and Ajax Tavern. Specific information on runs and additional lifts will be announced later this week.
All season passes will be valid as they would be in the regular season. Today is the last day to buy your Aspen/Snowmass Classic Pass. Additional pricing information will be announced later this week and prior to opening.
Thanksgiving weekend will be packed with events including the Thanksjibbing rail jam at Snowmass Base Village on Friday, Nov. 29, and the first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert of the season featuring Elephant Revival on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the base of Aspen Mountain.
