Foreclosure filings plummeted in the Roaring Fork Valley during the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2012.
Foreclosure filings fell 40 percent in Pitkin County to 34 through June this year compared to 57 through June last year, according to a report compiled by Garret Brandt
In the Roaring Fork Valley portion of Eagle County, foreclosure filings dropped 41 percent to 17 this year compared to 29 last year, Brandt’s report shows.
The Roaring Fork portion of Garfield County saw the most dramatic decrease. Foreclosure filings are down 56 percent to 51 this year from 116.
For the three counties of the Roaring Fork Valley combined, there were 102 foreclosure filings during the first half of this year compared to 202 for the first half of last year. That’s a decrease of 50 percent.
