The land at the base of Aspen Mountain that includes the defunct Skiers Chalet Lodge and Skiers Chalet Steakhouse has sold for $22 million, according to property records.
The deal, which was recorded Tuesday in the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, identifies the buyer as Lift One Lodge Aspen LLC. Public records link Lift One Lodge Aspen to HayMax Capital LLC, which is controlled by the Brown brothers, who also own the Molly Gibson Lodge and Hotel Aspen. In April, the Browns sold another shuddered inn, Mountain House Lodge on East Hopkins Avenue, for $10.1 million.
Calls to Michael Brown, one of the Brown brothers, and David Myler, attorney for the seller, Roaring Fork Mountain Lodge-Aspen LLC, were not immediately returned Tuesday.
The sale is the latest turn for the property that was once was eyed for a major hotel, ski museum, new chairlift and other amenities.
