After meeting every week for most of the past three months, the Snowmass Village Town Council on Monday approved the preliminary plan application to amend current approvals for Base Village.
The past four meetings have focused on how Snowmass Acquisition Co., the subsidiary of Related Cos. that now owns Base Village, will fulfill its community-purpose obligation to offset the variances already entitled for the project as well as those added in this application. After much negotiating back and forth, the council and the developer agreed Monday on a combination with a total estimated value of more than $7 million.
